Volunteering

Have you thought about helping out with Civil Defence?

Volunteering is easy and doesn’t require a big commitment of time. You don’t need any special experience or qualifications because we will provide training. Some of the things we do are:

  • Learn to use (and practice with) our 2-way radios, generators and other equipment
  • Work out what we need to do locally to function effectively in a disaster, and then do it
  • Coordinate with the Wellington Emergency Management Office and other Wellington Civil Defence Centres
  • Talk to other community groups about Civil Defence
